BEYOND THE HYPE: FIRST WEBINAR ON AI REASONING & ABSTRACTION CAPABILITIES
Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, but can it truly reason and abstract like the human mind? The EIC Communities project and the European Innovation Council (EIC) are kicking off its Beyond the hype: what is next in AI innovation? webinar series with a deep dive into AI’s reasoning and abstraction capabilities. Taking place on 25 February 2025, this first session “Al Limitations, what are the next capabilities” will bring together top researchers, innovators, and investors to explore the next frontier of AI, its real-world applications, and its broader societal impact.
This event will explore how AI systems can simulate human-like reasoning, interpret complex data, and develop higher levels of abstraction—crucial for the next wave of AI-driven innovation.
Agenda Highlights:
- Welcome & introduction – Stefania De Santi, Coordinator, EIC Communities project & Hedi Karray, EIC Programme Manager for AI.
- Keynote on AI reasoning & abstraction – Amit Sheth, University of South Carolina, USA .
- AI applications: next-generation capabilities – Kerem Sözugeçer, CTO of DeepOpinion.
- AI & society: the social impact of AI reasoning – Barry Smith, University of Buffalo, USA.
