B-CRATOS

Combining neuroscience, bionics, AI for a pioneering wireless, battery-free brain-machine interface.

People who are missing a body part or biological functions, like sensing, struggle with restricted functioning. Today, advances in technology from the intersection of neuroscience and engineering are opening up new horizons in neuroprosthetics. But there are still challenges to overcome, like power consumption, batteries, and bandwidth in signal and data transmission. The EU-funded B-CRATOS project will combine neuroscience, bionics, AI, sensing and innovative wireless communication in a wireless brain-connect interface to construct a pioneering wireless in-body, battery-free, high-speed communication platform enabling brain-machine-body connectivity. It will pave the way for ASIC brain implants with reading/writing capability as well as human-like sensors and prosthetics.
