This event is part of Future Tech Week 2026, a celebration of cutting-edge research and innovation. Explore more events and discover how deep-tech is shaping the future on our dedicated page.

This event is designed to inspire and engage a young audience of high-school and university students by opening a window onto the diverse world of deep tech through real entrepreneurial stories. The session will feature four early-stage founders from different technology domains, each sharing their personal journey from education to innovation:

  • Stefan Iarca, CEO of Rayscape (medical imaging & AI, Timișoara, Romania)
  • Matúš Grieš, Co-founder of NitroDuck (resilient agriculture, Brno, Czechia; iGEM 2025 Grand Prize Winner)
  • Andrada Muntean (TBC), CEO of NovoViz (space tech and imaging, Neuchâtel, Switzerland)
  • Fourth speaker (TBC)

Through an interactive panel, the speakers will reflect on their educational and professional paths and on how they identified and validated the problems their start-ups aim to solve. They will discuss the realities of building a deep-tech venture, from forming founding teams and developing research-based solutions to navigating support ecosystems, accessing finance, overcoming setbacks, pivoting when needed, and planning for scale and long-term impact. Special attention will be given to what makes deep-tech entrepreneurship distinct and to practical advice for students considering innovative, purpose-driven career paths.

A dedicated Q&A session will give participants the opportunity to engage directly with the panellists, explore the topics in greater depth and raise new questions.

Following the panel, participants attending on site in Timișoara will take part in a facilitated ideation and networking moment, aimed at identifying challenges, developing early solution ideas and forming teams in preparation for local hackathons taking place in 2026.
